Android – How to download an application
- From the home screen of your phone, tap the “Menu” button (circle with a triangle in it)
- Tap the Google Play Store icon on the apps screen
- From the home screen of the Google Play Store, tap the “Apps” button
- To locate the app you wish to download:
-From the main apps screen, click the search button in the upper-right corner (magnifying glass)
-Apps are also categorized in the Market by type. Scroll down to the type of application you wish to download. From there, you can search “Top paid”, “Top free”, and “Just In” (top tab)
-Or, from the app category, you can click the search button in the upper-right corner to search for a specific app - Once you have located the app you wish to download, tap on it.
- Tap the “Install: Free/Price” button (if there is a cost to the app, it will show a price instead of the text “Free”)
- After reviewing/accepting terms of access, tap “OK” to start the download
- While the application is installing, you will see an install icon on the top status bar
- When the download is complete, the status bar will read “Successfully installed ‘Application'”
Dragging down this status bar will give you more information - Tap the Application Name to launch the app
